World congress of engineers discusses the labor market: bottlenecks and opportunities.

 

A recurring theme, the lack of specialized professionals hits one of the most ambitious programs of the federal government – the PAC, or Growth Acceleration Program – right in the face. The program is tailored for infrastructure works, and suffers from lack of specialized labor in activities of the technological area and engineering – and its many modalities – is just one of these. In addition to PAC, lack of personnel can also impair the country’s economic growth (gross domestic product of 5.2% in 2007) in areas such as oil and gas, geology and mining, to name a few.
